| The
34th Annual Reunion 2001
I also met her son Barney Walker, who was visiting Brooklands for the first time. Judging by the smile on his face he was definitely enjoying himself - as did we all. Indeed, raising my pleasures to almost hedonistic level, Ray Wiltshire took me in his three litre (Bentley of course - there is no other) on the Banking Cavalcade after lunch. Happy days! Nigel Brooke, Gazette Editor. What a fabulous Reunion! Well over one hundred vintage Bentleys; three score or more Edwardian, vintage and classic motor cars and great weather to cap it all. Without doubt, according to those with long memories, one of the best ever Brooklands Society Reunions in the 34 year long history of the event. I must sincerely thank our good friends of the Bentley Drivers Club for supporting The Society so wholeheartedly and our Members for turning up in such large numbers. And what an honour - and indeed a pleasure - it was to have Mrs Diana Barnato-Walker, daughter of the legendary Woolf Barnato, to be our distinguished Guest of Honour. A day to remember if ever there was. Ian MacGregor, Chairman |
