year's card Ref: 1 - Winter at Robin Jackson's The painting Richard Wheatland has produced for this year's card is of 1934 Aston Martin CML 242, a 1½ litre second series long chassis sports saloon. The car is seen outside the Robinry with, in the background, the Eccles Supercharged Lagonda Rapier based special raced at Brooklands from 1935. The Aston which, was Class winner at Pebble Beach in 1997, is now owned by member Keith Piper. Message in card: |

The prototype Hawker Hurricane first flew from Brooklands on 6th November 1935 and the first production aircraft entered service with the R.A.F. in December 1937.
