Release Date: 1st October 2000

N A WELL ATTENDED Annual General Meeting of the Brooklands Society held at the historic 1907 Brooklands Museum Club House on 28th September 2000, Sir Stirling Moss OBE was appointed President of the Society, taking over from Nigel Brooke who has been in the role for the last six years.

Nigel Brooke remains on the committee and is carrying on in his role of  Editor of the Brooklands Society Gazette.

Ian MacGregor has taken on the newly created position of Chairman. Ian who has been the Chairman of the Aston Martin Owners Club for almost eight years will step down from that position in April 2001.

Members were reminded of Sir Stirling's deep-rooted connection with the historic Surrey track, the cradle of British motor sport and aviation, where his father the late Alfred Moss raced Crouch and Frontenac cars in the 1920s.

Release by David Burgess-Wise, Brooklands Society Committee Member.
