1904 Mercedes 28/32 5.3 litre

G9841.JPG (55521 bytes)

Entered by the Majzub family and driven by Tudor Roberts, this Mercedes has a honeycomb radiator, gated gearchange and mechanical inlet valves. These were all honeycomb radiator ( he of the large engines later used in several large Brooklands racing cars ) innovations. This car, which is a smaller version of the Grodon Bennett winning 60 h.p. Mercedes, is apparently capable of maintaining a cruising speed of 75 m.p.h. for anyone brave enough to hang on and hardy enough to withstand the blast.
