In 1911 the company opened a French factory whose output, more acceptable to the jetset of the day, actually far exceeded that of the Spanish plant, although the latter survived longer manufacturing the Pegaso.

The flying stork mascot was the emblem of the French fighter ace Georges Guynemer.

Manufactured by The American Motor Company and entered at Goodwood by William Haines, this was America's first sports car, with fully underslung suspension.

Only fifteen of these cars still survive and Mr. Haines owns six of them. The engine is a four cylinder with a capacity of 8.2 litre giving 50 h.p. at 1,500 rpm which in its day made for a performance car on the very rough and dusty roads of the time.
