1902 Renault Paris -Vienna Type K 3.7 litre. Entrant: Collection Renault (F) Driver: Jean Ragnotti (F) Marcel Renault won the 1902 Paris -Vienna race in a 'light car' such as this, travelling 808 miles at an average speed of 39 mph on appalling Alpine roads. Renault's winning margin was 45 minutes over the giant Mercedes and Panhard racers. |

1907 Lancia Alpha Sport - 2.5-litre
Entrant: Museo Storico Lancia di Torino (I) Driver: Gandolfo Madonia (I) Vincenzo Lancia (1881-1937), was a brilliant designer and one of Italy's greatest early racing drivers who built his own cars from 1906, the first this shaft-drive four cylinder Alpha. His greatest was the later unitary construction independent front suspension Lambda. This sport version of the Alpha is unique. |
