Straker Squire Engine

A detailed photograph of the Straker Squire X2 six cylinder 3,921 c.c. engine.

This was a development of the Eagle aero engine which Straker Squire built for Rolls Royce during the First World War.

The valves which have exposed springs are actuated by an overhead camshaft and each cylinder is separate from the others. Fuel supply is via twin carbs.
